Fascinating Friday and an enabler alert!

A week ago Noor from Paperie Designs invited me to be a Featured artist on her blog and I was more than delighted to accept it. Thank you once again Noor for this fabulous opportunity...

You can drop by her blog, Paperie Desgins Studio and read the interview here and Don't forget to drop in every Friday to comment on her blog..You have a chance of winning a 50$ gift voucher from Two Peas in a Bucket..Isn't that fabulous? I can already make a long list of what I would buy!!

On another note, how was Holi for everyone? I'm a scared rabbit who hides in her hole when holi comes calling...I hate the colors and for good reason...I spent my day hiding in my house..Thank God hubby doesn't force me to go play!
But it did give me a chance to play with the holi stamps from Varna's stamps...and are they fabulous or what!!

I loved the stamps so much that I wanted to play only using the stamps..no other element to it..and It is fabulous..I just loved using the inks and going crazy with it! All memento inks.

Lemme show you another one...

Sorry, this is a cellphone pic...but you can see..all you need is colors!!! All inks are memento inks.
Sending both these cards to Crafty JC's Challenge - Many Colors Holi

On another note, I'm glad all of you are loving my watermarks...I went a step ahead and got them done into rubberstamp so I could stamp the back of my cards...and who better to ask than Varshitha!!

And let me tell you, its so good, its crazy! don't believe me? here's the proof!

This is how I got my stamp!! And Its so fabulous!! The one in blue is my digital watermark and the one in black is the clear stamp!!
And when I stamped it...each and every detail is visible...the stamp is around 2"x 1.5" approx.

This is the stamped version. Its a sad cellphone pic..but couldn't get my camera to charge up soon enough to take pics and upload. Totally love it!! :)

So if you don't want a watermark, but just want a rubber stamp, I can help you design it and have Varshitha make it into a rubber stamp for you!! Possibilities are endless...

If I don't answer your emails this weekend or the next, don't worry, I'm just a little crazy with visiting family and meeting my bestie after 6 yrs and will be off to an adoption agency to find a baby girl for my bestie!! (Cross your fingers for her)

Crafty JC Challenge- Simplicity!

When I saw the theme for this month's challenge at Crafty JC, I was so happy! It was something pretty close to my heart...Simplicity.
Jaya and I both are ardent fans of Susan Rahila ... and both of us have had our styles influence a lot from her...With Susan providing an inspiration on day one I was keen to take part....and out of the blue Jaya called me and asked if I would provide an inspiration for the Challenge...I knew I couldn't say no.
I set aside all my other commitments and jumped to create not one, but two cards....Well, when the brain works, its works!!!

This image is by Jane Beljo. I'd won it a long time back and till today..I've never used it... But as I said, when the brain works....I wanted to make it snazzy as well as CAS...so picked all the glitter elements that I own...Glitter strips, Glitter balls and pixie dust glitter in gold...All Pie Lane products. The flower is popped up on dimensionals.
The sentiment is a Rub-on..a Rak saved up for 3 yrs!!The image was colored with Bic markers in pale lavender and red.
To keep the pixie dust glitter from smearing everywhere...I spray it with a fixative. and then no more glitter dust in odd places!! (The fixative is the Arfina Artist's Fixative for setting Charcoal, pencil sketches)

I wanted to show that CAS doesn't have to be one layered....It can be multi-layered and yet retain that CAS element.
I've matted the main panel on Black CS and popped it on the card with foam tape. For this, I wanted the glitter to be subtle, so use a red line of pixie dust glitter...random sprinkling of glitter balls, and a frame around the main image..with a Sakura 0.25 mm pen.. Sentiment is from Flower Fusion#1 from PTI.

So there you have it...my two inspirations for you for Crafty JC's Simplicity challenge. I hope you will give it a try....Thank you Jaya for asking, I'm truly honored!! Big big hugs!! (Babes, Aim for the 20th Nov please)

And for a sweet sweet beginning on this auspicious day, I would love to direct you to the newly created
Pie Lane Blog...and the new Design Team that will be working for them. And yours truly...i.e. me...is one of the DT members...The blog is in its initial stages...We'll get it running in a few days...but today was the best day to announce it....Wishing all of you a very Happy Dusshera and happy beginnings to all...

Glittery Cupcake

Hey people, its been a long break for me. 15 days since my last post..working on a few projects that took all of my time..then family was visiting..and so on forth...to cut the long story short, I'm back with a card..
It was such a pleasure to work on a card after so long..I've been working on scrapbook pages for 3 weeks non-stop..and they never seem to end..no matter what you add, there is always something to add...and being the finicky perfectionist that I am, it adds to my work.
There's so much to share, I'll be dividing it into two posts, one tomorrow..

On to the card, this card is based on two challenges, the Card patterns's sketch #81 and Crafty JC's 1-2-3 challenge...
It all came together pretty fast...my newest Inkadinkado cupcake stamp is what I used..every stamp on this card is from the same set. And that gorgeous doily is a RAK from Juhi..you rock girl !! Thanks so much!!

Loved how this turned out. The glitter that I used on the cupcake took my breath away..This glitter was sent to me by Jan and I've been hoarding it ever since..(a year back)  it shimmers! I don't know what kind of glitter it is,but I want some more and also need a fine tipped glue pen for this... Compared to this the hobby ideas glitter looks like chunks! that's how fine this glitter is..

I loved how the PP tied up nicely with the white dots I put around it..The sentiment looked too bare with just the word sweet so I gave some dots around it. I have to admit, it looks nice! The rose with leaf trio is stamped on the pink CS with Versamark.

Ok, that's enough about glitter..not enough? ok one more shot of the glitter! :)

This photo does not do it justice..IRL it is much more pretty..
The roses next to it have the hobby ideas glue in ice shimmers.

Next up, I wanted to show my ATC's for the month of August. The theme was orange, white and green. And Butterflies had to be there...this was very very simple, took me more time to print this than put it together. Images are colored with Sharpies, are glossed with glue and gloss. Backed on a black CS. The white flowers are colored with very light grey..just for shadows.

There is a different way of assembling this butterfly..if you're interested I'll show you how. the second wing on top is popped up with a foam adhesive.

Here's a shot to show the gloss..
That's it for now..will be back with photos of the amazing candy I won from Jaya and Ujjwal and the album that has driven me nuts. I will still be MIA for a couple of days as i try to finish the bigger album..but should be back with Crafty JC's 3rd challenge.
