Stamping crazy!!

I wanted to stamp...Stamping is my first love and I wanted to do a one layer card with some crazy stamping...where to begin is the million dollar question...so I went to my favorite CAS sketch card site...Clean and Simple Stamping and picked out one sketch randomly...The FTL 208 and went to town with it..out came my stamps, my inks and one sheet of paper...no layering..nothing!! And Woah!! 35 mins of stamping later....this is what I had!! 

 That riot of colors just had my heart...and I used just one set of stamps to do the whole background...sentiment was another stamp....

 These stamps were my first ever international purchase after the hobby ideas stamps...never really got around to using them....but they were so perfect for this sketch...These are what were called flip-a-roos...you could flip the stamp over and use them too...so that's what I did!

Used the solid side of the stamp to first stamp the color...and then used the design side to ink it up with black and stamp it over the color blocks....I hope that makes sense...

Here's how the stamp is...you can essentially do this with any stamp that is trimmed around the design..(I love how the light falls through the stamp and on the paper!)

This is my final essentially one layer card...I've faked all the layers...the black lines are drawn with sharpie to mimic a mat..but all is essentially one layer, matted on a red card stock base. This is an A5 card..
I could jazzy it up later on..with some bling..but will depend whom it will go to! See ya soon with some inky posts (wink wink)

This is a card for all of you....Thank you everyone for all your concern and warm hugs across the virtual world...I'm glad that you took time to read and write back to me and it made me feel really good...so I'm dedicating this card to all of you....to all those who matter!!

Essentially a one layer card...The CS is dark cream fabriano CS folded in half. I could send this for OLW, but its not a CAS, its more on the vintage type!

Shruti, I love these pearls....thanks for making me love them....no need to search for different size pearls...love the 3-D outliner!!! I saw this card on her blog and fell in love with this outliner!! Took me a while to search...but finally got it!!
 
Sadly this stamp from Inkadinkado, that I brought a year ago, still sat uninked...until today and then I found its a defective piece...One edge of the stamp is on a slope, so the stamp never lays flat and will never give a complete impression ...oh well!! you get some good and you get some bad!!

 

The right lower corner, where I've tried to ink it thrice..but no luck!! Anyway,s this is just it...A simple one layer, stamped with magical background in tea dye distress ink. Frame stamped in tuxedo black, and sentiment in Rich cocoa. A few dots with liquid pearls And faux stitching with Sakura Micron pen (0.25 mm) A bit of distressing around the edges with Vintage photo and I'm done!!

Next time around, I'm going to mask the center before stamping the background!!!

Okay, so that's a weird title for the post, but that's the challenge at Less is more...SOMETHING WITH LEGS!

 Stamps- Tag it's #2 and Signature Butterfly -PTI 

Furry boy- old hobby ideas stamp, colored with Distress ink-Fired brick.

Inks- distress-peeled paint and shabby shutters, Memento-Rose bud and pear tart, Tuxedo black.

 I loved the process of creating this card...I made the hill for my furry boy to do a cart-wheel and show off his legs! 

I used this tutorial by Kathy (The Daily Marker) to create the hill using my distress inks (Shabby shutters and Peeled paint)

 The furry boy is from an old Hobby ideas set. (p.s I've stamped him upside down...he does stand on his two feet)

Introducing the humble Comma and fullstop!!!!

This is going to be a long post...so if you don't have the time to read my blah-blah..just scroll down for the cards..so now on to my blah-blah..
First I must thank Susan for sparking a riot in my brain..ever since I did her OLW punctuation challenge, my brain has been whizzing with ideas..and suddenly my oft neglected alphabet stamps made an appearnce. In my last post I introduced you to the question mark and the exclamation mark

Before I ramble ahead to the latest card..here is one more with the same kind of flower created with the question mark...Never have I attempted so many cards to make on card...this is experiment no 3. The first card was perfect, until my stamp pad fell on it, and smudged the whole image, the sentiment didn't stamp out completely in the second try and this is the third attempt. Phew!! This beautiful sentiment is from Heart and Soul Rubber Stamps!


  And now, I bring forth the Comma and the full stop.

Here's the first card..I was inspired by this card on Susan's blog..I picked up the color combo and went with that...Had this ink cube lying for 2 yrs, this is the first time it got some use :D

This is a small note card, measuring 3x4.5 and the frame made with comma's (yes, your humble comma, with the full-stop as the center of the flower) works beautifully to encase the sentiment, which is again from Heart and Soul Rubber Stamps. Sue, has a wonderful collection of Christian themed word stamps and lots of sentiments for a very good price. (No, I don't get paid to advertise, I just love the sentiments)

I was suffering bling withdrawal symptoms so had to put in just a little bling on the center of the flowers

Then my brain wanted to use the same colors and create another notecard..but this time wanted to complete the flowers...so this is the next card that I made..

And since I wanted to use the same color theme as the earlier card, I took my watercolor pencils and just highlighted the sentiment. And yes, there is glitter here too..

Not much but enough to satisfy my craving for glitter.

I have never had so much fun in making cards, and finally when I'm down to the basics of stamping, using only 3 elements, stamps, ink and paper, did I realize the true joy of stamping. And now I know which side of the line I stand on. I stand on the side of clean and simple stamping. So having realized that, I know that I need more kinds of inks. So here's where your input comes in. Which is the best kind of ink to buy..I'm close to buying Memento inks. With choices comes confusion. And from where would you recommend I buy?
And after posting 3 cards, (which by the way is a record for me), I still am not done..I just have one last picture to show to you...
