Oct ATC Swap

We had our  ATC swaphosted by Rachna. It was exciting to see so many participate...

I love ATC's coz they offer a tiny canvas on which to portray your imagination..

For those who don't know what an ATC is...here's my short intro..They're a 2.5x3.5 piece of paper, called ARTIST TRADING CARDS that you embellish, decorate and sign on the reverse ( please don't ever use the word backside..it does not exist in the dictionary...I shudder when I read the word backside in newspapers and magazines)
Back to ATC, you sign on the reverse so that your recipient knows who sent it. ATC's are always traded as the name suggests. They are not mini cards. They're like your playing cards or baseball trading cards. Here are a few examples of fabulous ATC's on flickr.
Here and here ( you can browse more by changing the number of page)
These are primarily stamping ATC's. They can also be made with mixed media, collage, paints..any medium!

So having said that, let me share the ones that I received....
Pics from Kalindi's blog
Pic from Kalindi's blog
These two fabulous cards came from Kalindi....I love the neatness with which she packed the cards..and the tiny bling stones and the scoring!! Way to use your new tools girl...simply fabulous!!! Thank you so much for this gorgeous cards!!
This gorgeous fall creation comes from Vintage queen...Mallika. Thank you sweets for the fabulous burst of color!!!
Coming up are ATC's that I made

I had a few extra poinsettia's printed while I was making cards for Pie lane...and took one..cut it into two and colored glittered, and glossed (the 2nd  card has gloss, the first only glitter) The main card front is distressed (what's new?) with shabby shutters, peeled paint and forest moss. stamps are from Inque Botique..the fern and the sentiment both. Glitter balls and glitter dust from Pie Lane! And a touch of hobby ideas glitter along the border to look like tinsel... ( you can see it better in the first card)

And on a reprimanding note...I haven't got many comments on my Pie lane card...didn't ya'll visit the blog? or didn't like my card? I know its shameless to ask for comments, but that's how I improve..that's how I know what I did was good or need to improve basis....so please hop on over to Pie Lane blog and let me know if the card is way too simple?

This is the super super cute stamp I just bought off etsy...the giraffe and the elephant and the turtle were the main reasons to buy  this...and this is a huge set..8x9...isn't it gorgeous??

Received my May ATC's - the left one is from Vaishali...love the beautiful textures on the card...and the one on right is from Romina...I love that cow stamp..so cute!

This one is stamped and colored, with a googly eye..and the PP and the stamp is from Imaginisce line- animal crackers. super fun papers!

ATC overload

What can I say...I just finally (thank the Lord for that) got my Hero arts stamps. Apparently international shipping is taking around 20-25 days now!! I finally (yes, finally) own a butterfly stamp. For all the butterfly craziness that goes around in my craft room, I don't own a single decent butterfly stamp..that is until now..Say hello to Antique engravings and Kiss for the sun!! What yummy sets!!

I've been wanting to enter HA challenges for a very long time....Having one sentiment set never really quite cut it, so here are my first entries for the HA challenge, to create ATCs.

This uses the Kiss from the Sun set..Colored with my Sharpies, glue and gloss and background done with distress inks- Broken china and shabby shutters.

This ATC uses my most wanted set...I've been wishing for this set for over 6 months..finally its mine. The Antique engravings set.  This ATC took the longest to make.
-Started out as white Fabriano CS base, covered it with Worn lipstick distress ink.
-Clear embossed with magical background and covered the whole ATC with broken china. The embossing shows the color underneath..
-Stamped the sentiment in Broken china, clear embossed it and covered it with worn lipstick. (reverse of the ATC base)

I learnt this from Britta and Heather Maria

And my most favorite of all 3. I love this butterfly....
-I stamped the butterfly with black on vellum, clear embossed it and colored with sharpies on reverse of the vellum. It looks like glass..simply awesome!
-The base of the ATC is covered in shabby shutters and stamped with magical background using the same ink.
-Distressed with vintage photo on the edges.
-Stamped the moth on the ATC base, then attached the vellum butterflies with glue dots.

Just showing the dimension on the butterflies, and little bit of glitter.
Hope you enjoyed my newest craze. I'm addicted to distress inks.  (You think?)

Source of Inspiration and Jan ATC's.

A very quick post to show the card I made with all the hearts that I showed. This is my second post for today..first post has one sentence tip, that I stretched into a long post (no wonder I was the best in writing long essays..see here I go winding again)

Here are those shiny embosses hearts on my card..

Very simple card, nothing much to talk about. Submitting this card for the Wee memories challenge- Source of Inspiration. And my hangout for inspriation is my Flickr Gallery. Love seeing all the cards in the galleries.
This is a card inspired by Sally Sherfield.

Then I'm showing off the AMAZING ATC's I got for the January Swap..These are the prettiest one's I got so far...Thank you Anita and Rachna
Love the colors, the punches and ribbons..Its almost like a valentine's card from Anita to me.

This is from Rachna..can't begin to describe the card..just simply superb!
And here is my card..paper pieced cupcake, along with some glittery cut-outs.

If you want to know any of the supplies I've used, just ask me in the comments. I'll get back to you ASAP.

And (it doesn't seem like a short post anymore) on another note, a big shout out to the girls for cheering me up on Sunday evening. I was really smiling from ear to ear..Thanks Asha (the stand up comic for the day), Mansi, Kavitha, Piyu, Pranky, Sudha. I am soo looking forward to the next sunday!

Dec ATC Swap

Just a short post to show off the gorgeous ATC's I just received. The theme for the month of Dec was "Stamping". I loved ones I received. First off, I'll show you the ones that I made.

I used the only PTI set that I own, to create these. The set is "Little lady" and used memento inks, Bahama blue, Rose bud, Lady bug, Pear Tart and Tuxedo black to create this piece.

Pic from ATC blog(by Asha)
This beautiful ATC comes from Asha. I love the stamps she used.

Pic from ATC blog.(by Mansi)
This gorgeous piece comes from Mansi. Love the distress inks she's used. The ATC's all 3-d. Beautiful.

Pic from Ujjwal's blog.
And this surprise came from Ujjwal. Thanks soo so much for this gorgeous card, the texture of this CS is beautiful. Thanks for making my day!

I have a small request to all those who participate in the ATC Swap. I want to request all of you to post the ATC's you make as well as the ones you receive. Seeing pics of my ATC's on your blog and knowing that you appreciated my efforts, makes me want to create more. Also I like to know who received my ATC's. Of the 4 swaps that I took part in, I've seen only one ATC being displayed. I have no idea where the rest of my 7 (2 ATC's per swap x 4 swaps ) ATC's ended. That makes me really sad.

So its my humble request, For the sake of everyone who puts so much effort into creating these precious ATC's, appreciate them, share them and shower them with love.

Glittery Cupcake

Hey people, its been a long break for me. 15 days since my last post..working on a few projects that took all of my time..then family was visiting..and so on forth...to cut the long story short, I'm back with a card..
It was such a pleasure to work on a card after so long..I've been working on scrapbook pages for 3 weeks non-stop..and they never seem to end..no matter what you add, there is always something to add...and being the finicky perfectionist that I am, it adds to my work.
There's so much to share, I'll be dividing it into two posts, one tomorrow..

On to the card, this card is based on two challenges, the Card patterns's sketch #81 and Crafty JC's 1-2-3 challenge...
It all came together pretty fast...my newest Inkadinkado cupcake stamp is what I used..every stamp on this card is from the same set. And that gorgeous doily is a RAK from Juhi..you rock girl !! Thanks so much!!

Loved how this turned out. The glitter that I used on the cupcake took my breath away..This glitter was sent to me by Jan and I've been hoarding it ever since..(a year back)  it shimmers! I don't know what kind of glitter it is,but I want some more and also need a fine tipped glue pen for this... Compared to this the hobby ideas glitter looks like chunks! that's how fine this glitter is..

I loved how the PP tied up nicely with the white dots I put around it..The sentiment looked too bare with just the word sweet so I gave some dots around it. I have to admit, it looks nice! The rose with leaf trio is stamped on the pink CS with Versamark.

Ok, that's enough about glitter..not enough? ok one more shot of the glitter! :)

This photo does not do it justice..IRL it is much more pretty..
The roses next to it have the hobby ideas glue in ice shimmers.

Next up, I wanted to show my ATC's for the month of August. The theme was orange, white and green. And Butterflies had to be there...this was very very simple, took me more time to print this than put it together. Images are colored with Sharpies, are glossed with glue and gloss. Backed on a black CS. The white flowers are colored with very light grey..just for shadows.

There is a different way of assembling this butterfly..if you're interested I'll show you how. the second wing on top is popped up with a foam adhesive.

Here's a shot to show the gloss..
That's it for now..will be back with photos of the amazing candy I won from Jaya and Ujjwal and the album that has driven me nuts. I will still be MIA for a couple of days as i try to finish the bigger album..but should be back with Crafty JC's 3rd challenge.

Supplies:
Cupcake card
Pink CS - Fabriano, Black memento ink,Rose bud memento ink, sharpies, Ultra fine glitter, hobby ideas glitter-ice shimmer, signo white gel pen, rhinestones, versamark, PP from Itsy bitsy(sweetheart)

ATC Swap

I have joined a group of Indian ATC swappers...and the challenges each month are so fascinating. I joined in April and May and had so much of fun making them. And in spite of not having access to all the fancy tools, stamps or inks, all of the participants have managed to make stunning creations. I would give all the girls a huge round of applause. Truly, creativity has no limitations. I am proud to be part of such a wonderful group of crafters.

I must have spent 20 days of the month thinking about how to make them and then finally made them in last 10 days..I just managed to submit them in time. Sorry if I sound disoriented...a bit tired...entertaining my 1 1/2 yr old BFF's girl for just 2 hours was exhausting...How did you all raise your kids?? How did my gran raise 5 kids...I can't entertain one for 2 hours!! :D

Anyhow, these are the pics..do leave some nice comments..these have been waiting to see the light of the blog for over 2 months...

Here are the ATC's for April..the theme was Summer treats..

I finally got to use loads of bling on them..All the shapes in the ice-cream cone and the lemonade glass are hand-cut..The 2nd ATC has a lot of water-coloring for the background..It was really fun making them.. Used Clear embossing powder on the glares..for the glass and the sun..looks brilliant in person..Am sure the person who gets it will love it..I so hated to send it off...

The theme for the month of May was Anything but a rectangle..you should check out all the entries here..simply stunning!!!

I simply used a dress template from Stampington. (Sorry I've lost that link..) Papers are all from DCWV Floral Fantasy stack. Some punches and some bling. Butterflies are stickers..I didn't get time to take pics of these ATC's before I posted them..so I've taken them off the ATC blog..Hope you girls don't mind!!

Will get back to my home base next week and back to my posts and making cards..I did purchase a few cutting templates like the Coluzzle system. I got the circle and the square and I know its going to make my cutting work much much easier.

Till I post again..have a great week everyone..
