Scrapbook Album - Part 2

So here I am with part 2 of my Baby Girl Scrapbook. You can check out part one Here. Yesterday I'd left you with a page for the baby to meet all her family members...

Today I continue with her naming ceremony page. Since she is only 15 days old as of today, her name is not yet decided. so I've left the space blank which the parents will fill later on.
See the notebook edge punch? That's my Valentine's day gift. Hubby says he's lucky his wife doesn't care for gold or diamonds!! If only he knew that my wishlist was mile high....he'd watch his words!!  :p

Here are pages for when she celebrates her first festivals in her first year....I've taken the main ones...Holi (Those stamps from Varna were amazing for this page) there's a little rakhi I made with a flower.
This page has fireworks made from Stencils from Sristhi's studio. And the rocket too!! both are inked with distress inks. The alpha stickers on the side are from Printasticks.

These 3 pages track her progress from each month as she grows. The colorful pages are a true rub off from Khushboo's love for bright colors!! The photo corners are MS punch, the number digits and alphabets are die cuts. (vintage market and baby face die)

This is for when she turns one year old.  DCVW celebration stack rocks!! The bottom right is an accordion pull out page.

Page for some more party pics, and some tags for gifts, venues, themes etc when they plan the birthday party.

A requested page for baby's keepsakes, like hair, nails, cord etc. that the mom wants to preserve. both of these are envelopes and with tags.

The last page of the book. A page for just showing off my dies that I didn't use in a long long time!! Here I've asked the mom to paste the sweetest smiling pic of her baby when she can capture it.  I loved making this page..the felt grass, the felt baby clothes and the fence die...just fell right into place!!

So here's my book done. I'll be doing up the video soon, as I haven't been able to show the flip out pages well. Lets see when I get around to doing that.

Hope you enjoyed watching the pages as much as I loved showing them off.
As again, feel free to ask anything that I might have missed out on....

See ya soon!

Baby Girl Scrapbook

Here's my Baby Girl Scrapbook finally done. Took me a loong time...Over a month, but for a perfectionist like me, it wasn't enough...I still wished I had more time to make it a little bit better. Until I could convince myself that the pages were perfect, I kept tearing them down...3 pages were made and torn and re-made, and I thank God I did that, coz those turned out to be the best pages!!

And since its a picture heavy post and I am in a big mood to yack, I'm gonna break this down into two posts...

This cover page is my ultimate pride. I love how it has turned out.  Loads of Roses from spellbinder's dies, floral flourishes, cherry lynn flourish (man these are a pain to cut out...) and some laces and pearls. This album is a big size...10x12
There is a faint hint of a glitter border around the central picture. Done using double sided tape...A short recap of what I've done here using pie lane glitter.  Here I've used Martha Stewart coarse glitter. The background paper is from Papermania Confetti collection (same one I used for my Photo Flip book)

I got this gorgeous lace as a RAK ( you know who you are, Thanks soooo much Girlie) and could bear to use only this much. some adhesive pearls, and little poem written by the Mom completes the page. Of course I wouldn't be me without a butterfly somewhere!! :D

Most of the pages are the ones the Mom wanted and I built the book around her ideas. The page on left, is for the Ultrasound, and her baby bump. The Baby on Board was made using Cuttlebug  alpha dies.

The page on right is for her Baby shower pictures. The bottle and pins are something that was there in her baby shower..they were props and I made them with paper to mimic those. Also the lower page is a flip out page, which has space for 4 pics and a pocket for her guest list and Baby shower gifts.

Her Labor of Love. I belive she made her hubby take a pic before she was wheeled into the Delivery room..and she just wanted that memory too....the lower photo mat is for the picture of the hospital where the baby was born. Alphas are echo park stickers.

Welcoming the little one...the lower photo mat is a flip envelope page and a pocket behind it. The flip page hides the Baby Birth Details behind it.  The pocket holds a photomat for the baby's hand and foot print.

A page for the Baby's Birth Certificate and right- page for pics of mom and dad with the little one...the first pic as a family.

This page gave me the biggest trouble. I could not decide how I wanted to do it. This page was made 2 times!! Since she wanted to include photos of the baby with each of her first relatives...and waterfall seemed the best way to include many pictures in one page.
These two pages hold total of 12 pictures between  them. And I had played around with Shrink Plastic to create charms for the closure of the pages.

Here are what they look like....If you want a bit of more know how on these...let me know...will try to post a small topic of discussion on my blog.

This is how the pages open up and these are small tags for the family members to write their blessings for the little one....

That's it for today...will be back with some more pics tomorrow.

I would love to submit this for the Itsy Bitsy Pattern paper challenge ( I mean the whole book is filled with my most favorite pattern paper, Dhuh!!)

Coffee Cup Card

Technically its not a card...its more like a tag/bookmark with a pocket inside. Its a pocket tag.

Haven't made anything new in ages...been stuck on my baby scrapbook for ages...reason being, I've ripped 3 pages at least 4 times...so that is 12 pages done again and again. Because I'm not happy.
If I'm not happy giving something, I won't give it. Enough justifications, just came by to show this tag..my one and only card I've made for Valentine's this year...probably the last too!!

It for a friend who loves Coffee, well nothing says Friendship and coffee like a coffee cup! Free hand cut the shape, the lid. The sentiment is computer generated, dies are Couture Creations. Its my first take on something truly vintagey. Loads of distress ink used....Walnut stain and vintage photo. This is the most I could for a guy...how I stopped myself from adding flowers and butterflies and ribbons, my poor heart knows!!

Some brown twine and a punched heart says it all!!

The coffee cup lid slides out to reveal a tag...for a little message!! The sentiment is from Lawn fawn..

No heart is ever complete without some glitter and glossy accents!!

Photo Flip Book (Tons of Pics)

Happy New Year...yep, its still the first month...I can wish you..even if its way late....I did mean to post earlier..but never got around to it...just a complete lack of mojo, traveling and holiday just didn't let me get back to the groove...even now I'm in severe crafting depression...which means I want to craft, but have no desire to do so...weird eh!!
Never mind that.....let me post the pics of my Photo Flip Book which I posted a week ago on Facebook and forgot on my blog...(Has facebook become everything now? ) I need to de-addict myself from Facebook now....Zuckerberg may you rot in hell for this!! :p (its always nice to blame my faults on someone else..hehe!!)

This is essentially a 6x6 Photo book, with space for 12-14 pictures and a couple of spots for journaling. It was for a newly married couple...I so hope they liked it.

This is the cover page of the Book... Thanks Apek for the die cut...this book wouldn't be so awesome without your help!! MWAH!
This is my oh-so-in-love LSG gold shimmer spray...I'm getting low on it...need a replacement soon...(take deep breaths!! phew)

Just some die cuts, sponging, and super sentiments from Fiskars... (thanks Khush!! nope you're not getting them back)

Some gorgeous die cuts from Piyu! (I'm still in shock, did you really send me that die?)

This is how the gatefold page opens with space for a photo  in the centre..

The right gatefold for journalling space and again a photo...

The center flip out page with space for 4 photos and a center piece quote..

This is how the whole book looks from the top...maybe will give you an idea of how is goes...For a better peek at how I flip this book open and again open ... go to my youtube channel and check the video out...

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me...Papers are all from Papermania Confetti Collection. Which is now called the Lunne collection or something!!
Yes yes, the tutorial ...its from this video...but I have modified a lot of it...I have added a spine to both the sides of the book, plus a few changes that I felt the book needed. But basic idea is from that tutorial.

So, if you make one, do link me up..would love to see it!!

Flowery Engagement Card

Why is it sooo hard to come up with a decent title for my post? Anywho....Here I am with another Engagement Card on order. And nothing like last day panic to push that creative juices....sat till 12 am to finish this...and somehow the glitter makes me all happy!!
 .

Spent all day die cutting and punching flowers to see what would fit right...so since I used these, I have about 30 punched flowers on the spare!!  These flowers made from old pages, and are die cut with the Daisy Head Spellbinders's die, distressed with inks and misted with LSG glimmer mists, Pie Lane glitter balls, and if that wasn't enough, Sakura Stardust pens for that extra glitter.

Sentiment embossed with Ranger's Queen's Gold embossing powder on Parchment paper. Chery Lynn Butterfly glitter with LSG spray and Sakur stardust pen.

This is how it all finally looks....its  huge card...9x7 inches finished size.  Pretty straight forward if you ask me...and yet a lot of work if you know what I mean.

Not much of supplies...but if you want to know any particular product, do post it, will let you know...

On a different note, does anyone want a video tutorial of the cake from my previous post? or Would a sketch be enough to explain....just wondering!! let me know and I'll make that as my next post....

Anniversary Exploding Box

Hello everyone...this is probably my cutest project ever. I totally loved making it..and I'm still awaiting a reaction from the recipient, but hopefully they love it too....It was a custom order from a friend. To make something, that I've never made before and it had to be PINK.. I hope this is pink enough for them.

This is a big box....its a 5x5 inches square box. There is just one layer, and only 2 extra panels...I wanted the highlight to be the cake.

I however could not get much pics...I finished the project at night..and had to deliver it then itself. Few below are from my cellphone, so a bit fuzzy, but I guess it gives you an idea.

The bottom most panel has a pocket with two heart tags (with butterfly toppers) for the recipient to write a personal message.

This is the top of the box.

This cake is probably my biggest pride right now. I wanted to do something different, and the usual round cakes wasn't too exciting for me. And being a huge huge fan of 'Fabulous Cakes" on TLC, I had to try something new. .I had these mulberry flowers hoarded for over 2 yrs. Finally I used them where I wasn't scared of squishing them down.

The side panels are decorated with more rolled roses from MFT dies and some floral ovals...(Can't thank Khushboo enough for those die cuts and the sentiment sets..this project would be incomplete without your loan) and for the Piece de Resistance...the floating butterflies....those are done with acetate and butterflies from Itsy bitsy. Acetate here is the packaging from Spellbinder dies that I had hoarded, not the OHP transparencies. I feel the OHP is too too thin and floppy.

Loads of supplies used, so feel free to email if you want to know anything particular.
Oh yes, I know you're dying to ask the square cake tutorial...go check out Sazzle Craft, and don't forget to thank her for her superb tute!
I'll be doing one soon too...if you can wait.

See you soon with another crafty post...

The Reminder book

A craftypost from me after a long time . This is already up on Swap Central so I thought I might as well post it here. This reminder book was super awesome to make...and super fun....I took everything I love about stamping and colors and put that down in this book.

7 colors of the rainbow, stamping, embossing and distressing! All that I love about stamping is what makes the theme of this book!

I love how this cover turned out. I initially was not sure how to do these rays, but found a quick way to do it. and it turned fab. All the colors on the cover are the same colors that I used on the inside of the book. The ribbons are also 7 in color.....and the tags included in the pockets are also the same color as the page.....Talk about color co-ordinating! The Alpha's are stickers from PrintaStick.

Just a quick run down on all the stamps and inks used. All CS is Fabriano. The background Versamark stamp is hero arts Large stripe flower, and the lower half is Hero arts background Flower Dot Pattern Clear embossed and Distressed with Milled Lavender and Dusty Concord . The Alphabet is a local stamp I purchased, which is again white embossed on a frame cut out from a hero arts Stripes and Frame Set (Romina, I finally used the stamp you sent!! :D)

Check out the cute little birdie U-pin I snagged locally!! got tons of shapes of those pins...turtle, croc, sheep, cow, rabbit etc!! :D

The Feb page has hearts watermarked in the background, but hard to see because of the color. The flourish stamp is embossed in white, Distressed with Barn Door and Fired Brick

The March page has little bunnies (easter bunnies if you will) from Lawn Fawn, and the Hero arts clear embossed. Distress inks used are Stormy sky and Chipped sapphire.

The April silver heat embossed. The background has little dragon flies - an old hobby ideas stamp)
Distress inks used - Spun sugar and Worn Lipstick

The May has Damask background stamp from PTI, and heat embossed lower panel. I could not match the color of distress inks, so just heat embossed on the same color card-stock. Though it looks black, its green ..

The June side has PTI sunflowers stamp in the background and clear embossed Flourish stamp in the lower panel on the same green CS.

July tag is embossed in Gold, Unity butterflies in the background and White heat embossed lower panel.

Aug is silver embossed, and PTI Butterfly Dreams in the background. The lower panel is distress with Pumice Stone distress ink.

Sep tag is Gold embossed, Mehendi Medallion in the background (stare closely and slowly). Lower panel distressed with Wild honey and Spice marmalade and tinge of Rusty hinge.

My favorite month and color... Oct Tag is silver embossed, and PTI Friends till the end in the background.
Lower panel distressed with Tumbled Glass.

Nov tag gold embossed, and Autum Leaves stamp in the background. Lower panel distressed with Tea Dye, Antique linen and Vintage photo. ( I love this shade..its warm and cozy on a winter day..reminds me of cinnamon..)
The last page .. cloud stamp from Imaginisce .. lower panel inked with Broken China.

This is the tags that I have included in the pockets.

Hope you liked it and my partner did too!! It was a lot of work, even though it doesn't look like it wasn't!

If you have any questions about any product or technique...ask me and I shall be happy to clarify things for you.

Till then!!

Where have I been...

First of all, Thanks to all the nuts who went along with my boredom and played along the Tag game!! I have had so much fun reading it all...If I've not stopped by your blog, leave me a comment...I will stop by!! I am going to make a crazier version of a Tag and do it later on!! That's a promise...

So there haven't been many posts from me, not much crafting on my part.. I'm in the transition period right now....I am a CAS girl..but somehow now I find that boring. Its the story of my life. I get bored very soon...

Right now I'm on a discovering spree...I played with watercolors but decided, it wasn't my thing...now came decoupage. Its still in the expreimental stage.. but not getting a perfect finish..that is bugging me. Need to play around a bit more till I feel that I've done a good job!

And then there is lots of behind the scenes research that I do...for Swaps (err..that's just an excuse to watch more YT videos, plus I have to keep myself updated, if I am to be the walking talking Google :p)

And especially when hubby gets holidays, there goes my crafting for a toss...2 weeks of holiday for him means no crafting. I am the messy types and he is the cleanliness freak and even though he tells me to go ahead and craft...from the corner of my eye, I usually see him cringe at the mess I make.

I know his fingers itch to go and pick up that piece of scrap I just threw off. But like a darlin that he is, he resists. And like a darlin wife that I am, I try not to put him in that spot and keep away from crafting. When I don't craft. I shop! Brought some dies, stamps, and more dies which will find its way to me end of December.

Plus there have been books....The Krishna Key, Almost Single...Movies- The life of Pi...so things have been moving, but just not happening on the blog front.

If you like Mythological books, you will like Krishna key... I won't say you love it. Because the resemblence to The DaVinci Code is so evident, it puts you off at times. Its fast, its racy, its full of stories, legends, and mytho references. There are some really awesome theories, some mind boggling details. Some fabulous discoveries that make you wonder, is it fact or fiction.
But why is all the running, why is every third dialogue a lecture on the history and its origins, it didn't make sense to me. And the ending...wasn't what I expected. It was too open..maybe it was his intention, but I like closure in a book...So borrow it and read...I am rather waiting for the 3rd book in the Trilogy of Shiva...Amish hurry up!!

The life of Pi. The visuals, stunning. The animation. Stunning.  Story line - Didn't know there was one. The tiger- awesome.
I am not trying to kill the beauty that this movie is, for anyone. But I probably went with too high expectations after reading the 4 star reviews. Sometimes it felt like I was watching National Geographic in 3D. One review said, if you want to know what mediation is, go watch this. You will discover God.

Did I find God, or learn how to meditate...nope!!  I just came back with some stunning visuals, and some good 3D. Though Irfan Khan did manage to choke a tear out of me....but then he's brilliant.

So that's about what's happeneing with me. Should be back to post my planner which I made for the Swap Central's swap, Its already up on facebook if you want to see. Hoping to start a few cards .... but I want to write write and write some more!! Maybe my writing bug has bitten me again!!

before I ramble anymore, I'll say bye here...and be back soon with some crafty posts!
