My First Scrapbook page

This is for my BFF. Her engagement photo
I did a lot of masking and distressing, but sans the distress inks. I used mostly watercolor tubes and used my stippling brushes to mask. I borrowed a lot of ideas from Irene at Scrapperlicious..She is so much the diva in distressing..and uses a lot of mixed media. I wanted to use flourishes and blah blah blah..but didn't have, so used what I had and I think for my first LO its ok. I think the rule is knowing when to stop.
here is the link to the masking tutorials that I used..and I sure as hell want those distress inks..

Tertiary masking

And one great thing...I got my stamps from Heart and soul rubber stamps..Sue sent them trimmed..saving me a lot of trouble and since I did not have EZ mount, or tacky glue, She even sent me a double sided tape to use with it..

Thank you Sue, you're a gem!

And the poem that runs alongside the photo reads
You were born
to be together &
together you shall
be for evermore.

Stand together
yet not too near together
for the pillars of temple
stand apart

Love one another
& let it rather
be a moving sea
between the shores
of your souls.

Sing & Dance
& be joyous.
But let each one
of you be alone.
Just as the strings of
Harp are alone though
the quiver with
the same music.
