Celebrating a tiny milestone!!

This card goes for the Wee memories- Masculine challenge. And on a super Celebratory note, I was one of the Honorable Hoots for my Create a Scene card at Wee memories along with Ujjwal...YIPEEEEE...Way to go...and along with us, were Erum, and ETA: Isha (how did I miss your name?)- the top HOO-LA-LA's!! You rock girls!!!!! now back to boy business

My nephew's birthday was coming up, and I'd promised his mom, that I would make something for him..so this was it...

The engine, the funnel, the bogies..all handcut...I was never good at math in school..not good at it even today..but ask me to measure all this stuff and cut..I somehow can!! Go figure!!!

Every piece of paper is from Echo park, Little boy. The dino die-cuts are from Cuttlebug kids cartridge gifted from my friend Jan. (Thanks Jan) and the balloon and party hat die cuts are loads of RAKs from Jaya.

The wheels are die cuts from PTI - the button die cut set. I added yellow embroidery floss through the holes and added faux stitching to mimic Pie lane buttons! The steam and cloud are PTI cloud dies.

There was a lot I wanted to do to this card..embellish it..but I was planning on putting big photos of the kiddos on the last 3 panels..it might cover up the dinos, and the bogies, but it will make a great photo frame..That I'm leaving totally on to my sis....

I had so much fun making this ..

Creating a Scene...

Not its not what it sounds like...but have been on a spree on creating scenes...especially after getting my new distress inks and hero arts stamps...I created 5 card fronts in 2 hours..but those are still awaiting cards...that later...today for the card that makes me squeal in happiness everytime I look at it...

This card is for Hero Arts August challenge - to create a scene...

Ever since I found a wood-grain texture paper from a local store, I have been dying to use it...and this was the perfect opportunity!!This card is for my BFF since school days...but always a phone call away...haven't met in a quite a bit of years...but that doesn't stop friendship...

I love this CS...but it was a very pale beige color...to make it look like actual boards, I cut apart the strips and distressed them with Vintage photo..the ink brings out the texture of the CS..
The curtains are parchment papers, cut free hand and colored with bic-markers...and the frame around the window (which looks lavender, but is brown) is popped up on dimensionals.
The flowers stamped at the bottom of the card are from the set- be happy and the grass is from that set too...I stamped the flowers on white CS,colored with Niji Pearlescent paints and paper pieced on the card.
The beautiful beads in the center of the flowers and the butterflies are from Pie Lane Studio.

This is the inside of the card...this is what I was playing around with..distress inks, and the new hero arts silhouette stamp- Garden bouquet..I love the contrast of black on the background...inks used for the background are peeled paint, shabby shutters, broken china and tumbled glass..
And I must say, if I didn't have the stamp-a-ma-jig..it would have been so tough to place this perfectly...

The sentiment is from the Be happy set...and goes perfectly for the challenge on Crafty JC-Friends are forever!! and for the Wee Memories - Dare to color challenge

If there is any other thing you would like to know, as always, feel free to ask!!

Just a little pic to show you the metallic sheen in the watercolors that I mentioned in the previous post..and of course the gorgeous little butterfly!!!

See ya soon!

Showing off the legs!

Okay, so that's a weird title for the post, but that's the challenge at Less is more...SOMETHING WITH LEGS!
... this is also for the Wee memories, Summertime theme..

Stamps- Tag it's #2 and Signature Butterfly -PTI
Furry boy- old hobby ideas stamp, colored with Distress ink-Fired brick.
Inks- distress-peeled paint and shabby shutters, Memento-Rose bud and pear tart, Tuxedo black.

I loved the process of creating this card...I made the hill for my furry boy to do a cart-wheel and show off his legs!
I used this tutorial by Kathy (The Daily Marker) to create the hill using my distress inks (Shabby shutters and Peeled paint)

The furry boy is from an old Hobby ideas set. (p.s I've stamped him upside down...he does stand on his two feet)

This is post no#2 for today...there is still one more to go!!

Butterfly and Bling

This is the first time that so many challenges just fell into place for me. Everything just fit into the card I had in mind. This is a CASE of my own card here.

The theme this week at Less is More is butterfly/Butterflies...how could I not play!
Then CAS-ual Friday challenge is bling..how could I not add Bling?
And at Wee-memories, its Stamping! Simply Fabulous!!
Also this card uses Smriti's Simply Sketches #1.

We both loved Waltzingmouse Sketches, but since they have a requirement for using WM Stamps, which we both don't have. So she started her own sketch series...and I love the idea.
I've rotated the sketch a bit.

The flutter-by is from Hero Arts Antique engravings, the butterfly trail from PTI- Little lady and the sentiment is from 3 bugs in a rug- baby boy ( I think). The butterfly was stamped on CS and then layered with a embossed vellum butterfly. The bling took me so long to place, but loved it.

My flutterby ready for take off!!

I'll be off for vacation end of this week..will set some scheduled posts for next week...I might not be able to comment anywhere, but rest assure, I will stop by once I'm back.
See you soon!!

Source of Inspiration and Jan ATC's.

A very quick post to show the card I made with all the hearts that I showed. This is my second post for today..first post has one sentence tip, that I stretched into a long post (no wonder I was the best in writing long essays..see here I go winding again)

Here are those shiny embosses hearts on my card..

Very simple card, nothing much to talk about. Submitting this card for the Wee memories challenge- Source of Inspiration. And my hangout for inspriation is my Flickr Gallery. Love seeing all the cards in the galleries.
This is a card inspired by Sally Sherfield.

Happy Valentine's Day

Hey there, Wishing every one of you a very happy Valentine's day! I finally did make a card for my Hubs..And there's a cute story why he got this particular card..but for those who just want to see the card..here it is..

This idea of using donuts and that sentiment has been rolling in my head for quite a long while..The image was a freebie from Tiddly Inks, resized it, colored it..added some dot sparkles from Itsy bitsy, loads and loads of  glue and gloss..That's all there is to this card..

This is the sentiment that is on the inside..its a sentiment from the Hero arts set, but I just printed it out..This particular sentiment applies to all of you my friends..all of you who take time to comment and leave loads of love for me...This card is dedicated to you all...I'm entering this card for the Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge- Live Laugh Love. This is all 3 for me!
And this is the card that Hubs gave me..yeah, its Extra-extra large..just look at my card and his...I wasn't expecting it from him..I thought he'd just get me a bunch of roses! It just plain cute!!

So here goes the big story..It was almost our first anniversary(couple of days before) and I was craving donuts. The ones that we get in Ahd aren't the kinds I used to love..especially after having tasted donuts from Mad Over Donuts..you don't like any other..
He was headed to Mumbai the next day..he flew in at 5 am and was back at 11pm, but he brought me a dozen dounuts on his way back. I was stunned! He carried them in his hand, it never left his lap through the whole flight and from the airport to home. I was so touched by his sweet gesture. They say, marriage is falling in love with the same person over and over again. That was one of those days when I fell  in love with him all over again. ( i know it too mush, but its Valentine's day..!!)

These were the ones he got me..so the inspiration for the card came directly from these photos! So now, have I made anyone hungry?
Thanks for all your wonderful comments..it really makes me smile!

P.S.I'm still waiting on my Secret Sweetheart's confirmation that she got the card..I'll post my mystery card and the card I received very soon!
