A Quick Card

I needed a very quick anniversary card, since I'd totally forgotten to make one for my very sweet friend. We've met like 3 times in the last 14 yrs, but never forget to keep in touch over the phone, a simple text or just a hello. What better card to make than CASE my own card, which is a CASE of Erum's card!!

A close up of the bling bling!!

It is fast to make and quick to embellish! This time around I wanted to play with my favorite color combination- white, black and turquoise..and it looks fab..a little bit of bling never hurt anyone..not even if its a card for a boy!! :D

I'd initially used black ribbon, but that seemed to be standing out, so dulled the black with a bit of organza sheer ribbon. Image is again from cuddly buddly. And no white gel pen for me this time..wanted to keep it clean and neat.

Sending this card to Meljens Design challenge Blog. This week the challenge is to use Sparkle. bling it is for me.

See ya soon,

Love is..

in the air..Its not Valentine's day yet, but I had to make an engagement card on request..and well I had been wanting to CASE at least one card by Erum. That girl can take card making to a whole new level and gives "handmade" a completely new meaning! I love how she uses handcut elements in her cards...so this card is a compliment to you girl...You Rock!!
Drop by her blog and see the awesomeness that this girl is...I can't really cut that well on free hand, ..but  I do like this card...

This image is freebie from cuddly buddly..they've got a whole lot of cute digi images and elements..colored it with sharpies and the hearts have a bit of gloss to it..The embossed white paper is with my Fiskar's textured plates..

Just a bit of bling..
That's all folks :D

Will be missing from my posts for a week or two..visiting my MIL for the holidays..Have a Happy Diwali everyone!!

Thank you set

I needed a ton of thank you cards..now I don't need to tell you why!! Since I needed something that was fast, easily do-able in big volumes, I chose to CASE this card of Jennifer Mcguire..Simple and CAS at the same time!

This card uses paper from Itsy bitsy-linne bell Pearl if i'm not wrong, stamps from Delight in life set from Stampin Up! This is one of the bestest sets I've got..Thanks Sophia!! The tiny flower and the sentiment is from Hero arts - Arigato set. Leaves are from Autum leaves, stamped in Cottage Ivy memento ink. Colored with Sharpies and glossed over.

This uses the flower from Autumn leaves, and colored with Sharpies.

Here I tried something different, gold embossed on the DP. DP is a double sided paper form Itsy bitsy. The sentiment is also clear embossed.

I wasn't able to get the shadows out of the photos..working on how to do that...So there you have it..simple and fast cards..

Have a great week everyone!! Should do a few post before I run off for the Diwali holidays! No where great, just joining my in-laws at Baroda..if anyone is around there..lets meet up! :D
Here's a card I want you all to check out..it has the Indian Tilda/Maggie in it..and Ruby loves henna so much, she drew it on the Tilda's feet!! I loved the card...

OLW#25

Its been ages that I haven't been able to participate in the OLW challenge. It feels soo good to finally be able to do it. This week Jennifer Styles is hosting the OLW and this weeks theme is Birds and bees and flowers and trees!! I love how it rhymes!

Not much to it..but I loved watching Jennifer Mcguire playing magic with her distress inks on the Thinking inking videos..i tried with my memento inks..but they're not distress inks..so out came my watercolor pencils..
I gave a wash on the paper with blue, yellow and green colors..then stamped the image, colored with Sharpies and a little bit of glitter and gloss on the wings..

Sentiment is from Heart and soul rubber stamps. Just a close up..

Hope you like it..

No stamping!

How hard is it when I have to keep away from my stamps and inks! Smita had challenged us to make a card using ribbons and no stamps!! She is the guest blogger on Yvonne's blog this week. That girl knows how to challenge me.
And there is no DP either! This also is for Annabelle Stamps challenge to use no DP.

Here's my card...wanted to use Christmas colors..so used satin polka dotted and grosgrain ribbon...and this card is made on the lines of a card made by Kristina Werner....

The butterfly is cut from a template. Finally I found something resembling a kraft CS in local stationery store. Love it. All the ribbons are scraps..and the pearls are from Itsy bitsy.
Sentiment handwritten..

tip-Always wait for the white gel pen to dry before you do anything else...see those splotches??  :) (right above the L in the hello)

There you Smita, no stamping!! how did I do??
This is my second post of the day!! Do scroll down to see what came in my mail.

Birthday goodies have started!!

I celebrate my birthday tomorrow and share with at least 5 people in my own family, including my mother in law!
Just got a fabulous start to this weekend's party with a superb cute card from Michelle!! She too is an October baby!! (24th)

And look what arrived at my doorstep, this fabulous card from her!
The pics are from her blog, I was too excited to wait to take a pic! :D
Isn't this gorgeous...it is much much more gorgeous in real life, the textures, the popped up flowers, the little butterflies! I'm in heaven! totally!

Look at that gorgeous awning! Its a lot of detailed work and Michelle, thank you from the bottom of my heart for this piece of art!
She also sent me Tim holtz fragments, Maya road chipboards and gorgeous flowers! Thanks hun!! Totally made my day!

Scrapbook Mini's!!

I've been MIA for 3 weeks..and its not a good thing...felt so lost being away from my blog. I'll show you what kept me busy!!I had to do two albums, one for a baby and one for a friend. I loved the whole process and someone said it recently to me, making them is addictive. I finished making them and now I have nothing to do...I feel strangely vacant. Making cards...well got some birthday cards to make so you'll see them shortly!

Here's the cover of the Friendship Scrapbook mini..for more pics of the album pages, go to this page

And this is the second album,

The center is left empty for the baby's pic.  There is an acetate sheet covering the front and back pages.
The alphabets are die-cuts so generously sent by Juhi..(love you girl!) Even though its a boy album, the alphas are glittered with pink glitter and glossed over! They look fab...

Here are some pages of the book....I won't be putting up the pages that took me the maximum work. Simple reason, I've had people copy my work without crediting me. And I don't like that. I will credit people who inspire me and I would love to thank Laura for her beautiful videos. She can make scrapbook albums like no one in this world can! She's truly an inspiration! Check out her videos.. her albums...way out of this world!!

The first page, for the pregnancy photos, ultrasound pics.

This page has the birth details and first photo of the baby!

There are two pages for each month of the baby's first year and this is the last page, for the first birthday.
There are tags as the mother wanted to attach keepsakes to them. So there you go, this is what has kept me so busy...should be back with more cards soon!

I'm so dying to buy some new toys/supplies for my birthday..but can't decide on what to pick. Stamps, distress inks, punches, twinkling h2o's, prisma pencils!! What is not on my wish list are Copics..i can do without them. I can do without all the stamps in the world, but some like hero arts..yup..those I love..
Its a bit tough to figure out what you need versus what you want.

Would love your feedback on this album!

Crafty JC Challenge #3 - Inspiration Challenge.

Welcome to the 3rd Challenge from Crafty JC Challenge! I am so honored to be the DT for this month along with Sudha and Khona. It has been a fabulous time for me.

This month the Challenge is "Inspiration". All the 3 DT will have one inspiration photo for you to choose from. I have 2 cards to share with you today! And we are being sponsored by none other than Karen's Doodles. The prize for this challenge is 3 images from the fabulous collections at Karen's Doodles.

Here is my inspiration photo for this challenge. Its a card from one of my very sweetest blog friend Michele Kovack. She was the one who filled my collection of wood mounted stamps! A wonderful person, a super mom and a wonderful, wonderful crafter. She too loves glitter as much as I do...

I would love for you to step by her blog and say Hi to her...Here is the card by her and there is a tutorial too.

I have loved this card for its glitter (no prizes for guessing that) and the vibrant colors. I chose to take the rainbow as an inspiration and create my own.

I used the cut-n-tuc templates to create the rainbow. Sun is from Tiffany's Doodles- a freebie.  I used glue and gloss on the acetate sheet to create the rain. After all you can't have a rainbow without the rain and the sun!! The clouds have been lined with silver pen (literal silver lining in the clouds!!)

Loads of martha stewart glitter! yumm! (ignore my finger in the corner)

The second card is with an image generously given from Karen's doodles. I chose to pick these Birthday Penguins coz I found them to be the most happiest! To be honest I had a tough, very tough time picking an image to work with..they're all so gorgeous!

Here I chose to keep the rainbow theme and used 5 colors in coloring the card..and the cupcakes in front are in the rainbow colors and I knew I had hoarded that rainbow ribbon for a reason!

Glitter and glue and gloss!
I hope you like my DT cards for this challenge and I would love to see what you can create with the inspiration.

Just some simple rules :
1.Pick anything you like from that photo, the colors, the shape, the theme...and show us your interpretation.
Do mention which photo inspired you and what inspired you. If you can put up the inspiration photo along with your card, that would be great..but not necessary.
2. Make sure its a new project.
3. Link it up on Crafty JC's Challenge blog.
4. And as my favorite blogger says, Have fun!

I've kept my chatter to a minimum today.. I wanted to go on about how I created these cards. But since there are a lot of pictures today, the banter goes down!
